This film presents the element oxygen - the most common element on Earth. Oxygen is found in the air, in water, and in almost all minerals and rocks. After all, all living things need oxygen to survive.
Under normal conditions oxygen is a colorless and odorless gas. Elemental oxygen gas is usually found as a two atom molecule. The atom has six outer electrons. To attain a stable electron configuration it can take up two electrons.
The element oxygen has the atomic number 8 and is in the sixth main group. Its atomic mass is 15.999 u, its atomic radius is 60 pm.
